About Hypnotherapist Nicole Wetherell
My Approach
Change starts when the mind feels safe. In sessions you remain aware and in control while learning how to guide your subconscious toward calmer, more helpful responses. We blend hypnotherapy with CBT and NLP so insight and habit change work together. The aim is steady progress that lasts, not quick fixes that fade.
From Athlete to Therapist
Athletics shaped my early life. I trained and competed in hurdles and long jump, and learned the value of focused mindset. A serious back injury ended that path and required spinal fusion. The experience taught resilience and a deep respect for the mind body connection, lessons I carried into later roles in engineering and banking.
I discovered hypnotherapy through a self improvement book that included self hypnosis. The results were immediate and compelling, so I trained professionally at The Surrey Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy. Working with clients confirmed what I had felt in sport, the mind can be taught to choose balance over fear.

The Mind and Body Connection
From my years in athletics, I learned first-hand how the mind influences the body. Focused thoughts affect breathing, posture, and movement, while tension or self-doubt can hold you back even when you are physically capable. That same principle applies to emotional wellbeing.
When the mind feels safe, the body naturally follows. Muscles release, breathing steadies, and the nervous system returns to balance. Hypnotherapy works by creating that sense of inner safety and focus, allowing both mind and body to work together rather than against each other. Many clients describe it as a feeling of being reset, calm, and ready to move forward.
Why I Love This Work
What inspires me most is seeing people rediscover their own strength. Many clients arrive feeling anxious, exhausted, or unsure whether change is even possible. Watching them gradually find calm, confidence, and clarity is incredibly rewarding. There is something very special about seeing that moment when someone realises they are capable of far more than they thought.
Hypnotherapy gives people the tools to reconnect with their own inner resources. My role is to guide that process gently, helping the mind unlearn old habits and create new, supportive ones. Every person I work with teaches me something new about resilience, trust, and the human capacity for change.
How Sessions Work With Hypnotherapist Nicole Wetherell
Our first session begins with a relaxed conversation about what you want to achieve and how your current patterns affect daily life. Together we outline your goals and the steps that will help you reach them. Each session is tailored to you, so that the process feels comfortable and natural.
During hypnosis, you remain aware and in control while in a calm and focused state. In this space, the subconscious becomes more open to positive suggestion and new learning. Between sessions, I may share simple exercises or mindset techniques that support the work we do together, helping you strengthen the progress day by day.
Most people describe the experience as deeply calming. They often notice improvements in sleep, mood, and concentration, alongside the specific changes they came for.
